Is it just me or does anyone else almost NOT want to ride their 1125r. I've got this beautiful bike sitting in the garage that I'm simply scared to ride. It's like every time I get on it I'm that much closer to hundreds of dollars and numerous hours of work in the eventuality that my stator goes bye bye. I swear it's almost depressing

Yeah its all thats keeping me from getting one. Hate too get a bike and have a problem thats not supported.

Not scared at all, if it goes out, have it rewound and buy the EBR rotor cooling mod and be back on the road. I do however know how you feel but the good thing is it can be fixed, so ride it and enjoy it.

Yup not scared. More scared of doing wheelies with this one cause it comes up so fast but mainly it will a lot more expensive fix if i lay it over.

I used to be. My stator burned up about a month ago. I had it rewound by ricks and bought the new EBR rotor. Installed it myself with great help from forums and friends. I love riding it now. I never even check the voltage. I rode 4 hours away yesterday and never even thought about it. I never would of rode that far before.

Got this xbr for you bro, np. Trade me :3

If my bike wasn't financed, I would actually love to do that. I would rather have an xb than an 1125 any day of the week.

Have you ever been dirt bike riding? It's hard to come out of the woods without a $100 repair of some sorts to do before the next ride. I was a pretty bad rider though. It blows my mind that people spend BIG bucks on KTM's and such to just drop them. Stator on my bike was just replaced, so I'm putting the EBR rotor and the series rectifier on immediately. $166+$175 isn't a bad bill at all.
I'm making payments too, but it will be spanked :D

Nope, I ride the crap out of it 2-3 times a week. I used to think about, "oh crap here comes some more miles on the bike, but eh. What else do I have it for?"

I know right?! I really want a supermoto and I've utterly fallen in love with the Ducati Hypermotard but then it's like, why would you spend 16 grand on a bike that has too much power for offroad use and is going to cost tons of money to repair. It's like one would be scared to let the tires touch dirt, let alone drop it in the dirt lol

I rode the crap out of mine till the stator blew last Tuesday. :( I had gotten it about 2 months ago with 1500 miles on it and now it sits in the garage with a fried stator at 5000. It was a fun 3500 miles though. Now that I put my XB back together I can pull the stator and fix it. Might as well ride it till it goes now while they are still somewhat available. Picture if you are scared and you finally blow it 5 years from now and you cant find parts at all.

Why not start looking for parts now and have them on hand get everything to convert it to 08 style i got a 08 and have a clutch piston waiting for the weep to get worse than it is

I'm one of the lucky ones who got an '08, so I dont have the issues that you are all having, but what else do you have it for? a mighty expensive piece of garage decor dont you think? From what I understand, the rotor fix does wonders... yeah, it is expensive, but it should take care of the problem.

I have nearly 28K miles on mine and each time I ride it it brings a smile to my face (but then again I am still using the stock stator, Id be pissed if it went out every 5-6k miles for sure). then again, I'd be willing to spend the $ to get the issue fixed if there is a known way to do so, but I know that not everyone has the expendable income to justify spending that much...try to save, but in the mean time, ride that **** before it gets cold out...

^Truth. I have one of the last EBR rotors installed in the bike back during this last winter. Its been 4,700 miles since and nary a problem...just abou to flip ~13k miles...

Is the 08 a better year for the 1125r? Did they fix that problem that year? Thinking of trading my XB12 for one.

'08 was the first year, and while it didn't have a stator-burning problem, it had a couple other issues that were supposed to be addressed in '09. I almost got an '09 (other party backed out at the last minute--hope his stator goes soon... Lol!!), and I wasn't afraid to tackle the stator issue. I would have replaced the stator with a Rick's upgraded version, had EBR do their thing to my rotor, and upgraded the voltage regulator/rectifier with a CompuFire unit. Had to do the exact same thing to my Aprilia RSVR Factory...

My .02

20,000 miles on my 09 CR and only burnt out one stator last August when it had 5,500 miles. Going to get the EBR rotor eventually. From what I got back from emails to EBR is that the ebr rotor, 09/10 stator and the recall harness together are showing no issues. Only other option is swapping in the 08 stator and rotor, which is about twice the cost of the ebr fix.

Thinking of trading my XB12 for one.

Wanna trade for mine? I've got about 1500 miles on my 09' and only ride it when it's cool out in the country lol. I wanted an xb12 in the first place but all they had was the 1125r
