I'm getting ready to change my rear tire and I can do all of it my self except balance it . I got a price of $240 mounted balanced and installed but I can save like $100 by doing it my self . I am mechanically inclined ( I'm a ASE cert diesel tech , auto tech ) I also used to work on atv's and dirt bikes back in the day .

What are your thoughts ?

It is def time to change it , or am I just paranoid ? Lol!

Wheel balancing beads ? Guess that's what I hear when I spin the tire , I was wondering what was in it . It also has stick on wheel weights on it !

That would make changing the tire so much easier . I don't think it's the original tire . For such a low mileage bike it's got it's share of bugs , it seems to have been beat pretty bad

240.00 is crazy my local shop charges 65.00 per tire.it takes me about 30-40 min to do it myself

The guy who is going to do it came highly recommended by the local diehard Harley guys , and he races a buell so I would hope he would be good lol!

I'm on my 4th set of tires on my XB and have never balanced my tires.I have also never had any issues and have had it topped out on several occasions. I believe as long as your buying a quality tire chances are in your favor of not needing balance.

I've never toped mine out , been 120 once . Other than that 1 time I ride between 65 and 80
