so i guess i overtighten this. (not sure what to call it) and broke the upper triple tree on my firebolt. i took the bolt out and it isnt broken all the way through. you guys think this will be ok to ride on until i get a new one?

I would JB weld it until you get new. I JB'd my shift pivot and ordered a new one it is holding up good!
 
im tryin to think whats the worst that could happen. that top nut backs out? then what.....
 
Hell i would! You still have the lower holding it into place.

Judging by the condition of RJ's bike, I'm not sure I'd take his advice on this one.
