hmmm that is strange. I'm not very electrical savvy but don't think those are actually fuses. I think those are something else (like diode, resistor) or something else, not a fuse. I know I've seen that symbol before that is on them...

Take a look at the fuse block lid and check all your fuses against the diagram to be sure they're all in the right spot. You should only have one diode in the fuse block - so someone's got them all out of whack...

I have 2 in mine, I believe one is a spare though

the diode should be right across from the 7.5 (second down on the right side)

they are from the two top left slots in the pic.

the rest of the fuses look fine and no one is broken.

any idea why it wont start?

i have checket the safty think with the smal ball in, and it is stille sitting the right way.

I'd get a new diode and see if that works, I believe if those aren't functioning your bike won't either.

my local HD dealer was closed today..:-( do you think this could be why it wont start?

Why are both of your diodes melted like that? Were they each in their own slot when they melted? You can get those at any auto-parts or electronics store, doesn't have to be a dealership...

ok i just aske on a danish forum where i guy says i can make it by my self, with a diode,

yes they where both i each slot when they meltet

the bike wouldent start so i check the fuse and saw that these two looked like this

You should only be using one diode in the entire fuse block. The other should've been in a "spare" slot and shouldn't have melted. If both were installed and melted at the same time, one or both of them are in the wrong slot, or you've got a serious short somewhere.

Odd, there must be an extra diode in the 03? Looking through the 05 manual there is only one.

Quick test, pull in the clutch to see if it starts. The diode is part of the neutral safety circuit.

You can also test the diodes with a decent DMM. Most modern decent ones will have a diode test function. If not, you can use the resistance/ohms measurement.

Did you remedy the diode problem? Not sure if it makes a difference, but does the arrow need to placed in a certain direction? Maybe the flow of the circuit? Just an idea.

...does the arrow need to placed in a certain direction?
Absolutely. That's the purpose of a diode, only allows electricity to "flow" one way. They shouldn't have melted though either way. And using two diodes must be unique to '03 bikes only.

it dint work.. any idees why it wont start? it dosent make the "test" sound when i turn the key...

theres i light and every thing, but no test sound and nothing when I hit the button to turn it on.

the battery shows 12 V
