Just thought I would introduce my self...

I'm 20 years old and just bought a 2005 Buell XB12s Lightning. This is my second bike..had an 1986 Yamaha Radian YX600 before this. I'm very excited for riding season to come around.

It's Midnight Black stock number 1858A-1

I bought this bike at Milwaukee Harley Davidson with no joke, 397 miles on it. I have not rode it yet due to the weather but I cannot wait. Looking to get an exhaust and do something with the license plate? Any ideas on that?

Hey ,nice ride! My 05 is a 12 R, when I got her back then, there were 314 miles.
Look up the cheese grator mod thread on this site ,if you wanna adress your plate&fendet.
Welcome to the family & be safe!;)

congrats on the new addition and welcome!
by the way, that bike was a great find, only 397mi? too cool [up]

Congrats on a great find. you're going to love this bike and pretty soon you are gonna get bit by the mod bug and you'll find your wallet a lot thinner than you remember. [up][up][up]

So i just got the insurance stuff on it and they have it as a XB12SCG...so I guess it's a cg...but the dealer had it as just a xb12 s...theres not much of a difference is there?

Thanks for the great welcome btw!...

Welcome to the Forum Twp. Congrats on your new ride. The scg is a little lower than an s. Not much difference besides ride height. Also, here's a simple mod that will save you from answering a lot of "You've got a headlight out" questions: Both Headlights On Mod

Well there are different types of XB12s models. To name a few XB12SS, XB12Scg, XB12STT. Yours is still a lightning XB12S just a center gravity model. The XB12Scg sits lower so the center of gravity is lower which enables you to corner better than any of the other XB12S models. Just clarifying for you in case you were a little confused on the models.

Thanks Steven..that will definitely be one of the first things I do!

And thanks for the explanation Brain...

Now I just have to wait to there is no salt on the damn roads so I can have her delivered....[mad]

Correct me if I am wrong. The Scg has the same wheel base as the R with a lower stance than the Ss, while the Ss is both taller and longer than the Scg.
