I bought a 1999 X1 today! Wooooooo!!!! I also have a 1987 Sportster 1000cc that I can't ride due to title complications, so this is my first bike that I can actually ride.

This is also my first forum ever, so I'm a newbie to forums and Buells.

Bike: Yellow, side fairings removed (but I have them), Vance & Hines Exhaust. I'm 3rd owner, 3,300 original miles

Plans: I NEED TO LOWER IT! I'm 5'5" and on my tippy toes.

I'll see if there is anywhere specific here to find info on lowering it...

Welcome to the world! It's awesome kinda like when your born! Anyways get some pic's up and ask question's the board is very helpful!

x1 might be tough i think that has the under slung shock.
I know there was a Low version since i looked at getting one.
Slipping the forks will get you a inch or 2.
Welcome to the forum

Thanks!
Middletown, NJ. Central Jersey shore area, about 5 miles from Sandy Hook..
And i'll get some pictures tomorrow when it's light out!

be carefull slipping tubes as it will alter rake and can avect front stability(meaning it can tank slap) dropping it by say qaurter of an inch and that will affect handling already so be care full playing with that stuff. what do others think ? [cool]

West Tek no longer makes a lowering link for the tubers. Look through this thread and find the member that made a copy of it. You could buy a lower seat and going that route you lost no ground clearance.

Yea I would lower front and rear at the same time, and do a lower seat also.

I've been searching the internet for parts/kits.

I'll probably search around here for information.

Oh and how do I upload a picture on this post?

Just want to say welcome. If there is any question you have no matter how dumb or trivial you might think it is, the people on here will always help.
Welcome again.
