So my GF just got an SCG that already has a Race Kit a/ Drummer muffler but stock over that and would like to know...

What do the ladies prefer for their bikes? Guessing it would be like the guys just based on personal interet but I would like to see what the ladies have to say or any guys who's gals that have bikes.

This is her first bike also.

Hi! First, congrats on having a kick ass girl who rides. I just bought a black 09 xb12scg a few months ago. I love it so much! I haven't done a whole lot to it yet, just a D&D exhaust, bar end mirrors, headlight grill, carbon fiber belt buckle guard. My husband custom made me a fender eliminator kit that looks really clean. I removed the belt guards and the rear foot pegs to clean up the look a bit. I think I am going to get a rear seat cowl next. Hope this gives you some ideas. I live in WA what about you? -Jen

After she takes her road course test the first thing to go will be the cheese grinder on the back. Also the belt gaurds. I am thinking that I will recommend for her to keep the stock mirrors till she is comfortable with the bike then go to bar ends.

My GF is 5'4" and just the balls of her feet touch so I hope it will do.

Thanks Brandon

I would say not to do too many mods the first year of riding the bike. let her get real comfortable on it unless she's already been riding awhile and knows she won't drop it. i say this especially since only the balls of her feet touch the ground. the first time she gets caught at a light going up hill may be somewhat difficult.

To answer your question though of what to change...definitely the exhaust which you already have. The louder the better. Fender eliminator and maybe some custom paint. Also, if you could find a solo seat...I've always wanted one of those, unless she'll be riding a passenger a lot.

ANyway, we're from Auburn Hills, MI...if you guys are ever in the area we should definitely hook up for a ride. Good luck and congrats to your girlfriend!

oh and get her some bulky harley boots...that'll get her feet touching better to the ground.

Good thought on some nice thick riding boots.

The bike is yellow right now but will be getting a black paint job over the next week or so.

Oh she made a profile now and is named "BuellChick".

Hacked, thanks for the help.

Oh GF dropped the bike two days in a row so the mods will wait till next season and she is better at riding.

Thank god for axle sliders and frame pucks.

Oh she has a sister, and loves motorcycles too but would have to ride single if you catch my drift.

Also she live in AZ, and has a BF.

Oh well guess I am just that lucky.

Ok so i have to start with i'm relatively brand new to motorcycles. I bought a ninja 250 to start with. I'm already bored with the engine but i know i need to work on my skills better, so i'm not getting a new bike until at least october, but i'm loving the XB12Scg!!! I've got a 30" inseam, so the seat is perfect without me having to lower 4" just to sit on it. My concern is really going from a 250 to a 1200. I've had some people tell me to go up to a 600 next but i've got the Buell itch and I love this bike. Anyone done something like that before? I know i'll have to be far more careful with it, but i think i might be able to handle it. Any thoughts?

There are SCG's that are 900's and other than the torque down low I would compare it to a 600.

Yeah, just wait till you start riding it. :D[up] You've got the right attitude though. It's when you start feeling invincible is when you get into trouble. (The Buell XB12 was my first and only bike. And many others started out the same.) Just push it at a pace you're comfortable with and Ride safe.

One thing, you'll probably get more posts and opinions if you start your own thread. Welcome to the Forum. :)

Sorry to live up an almost dead topic :p But I would love see the pics of the lady buellers bike! My Gf is about to get one XB12S '07 and I am coming up with ideas to customize it.

Thx!
