so this past weekend i wrecked my 05 CityX. FYI the frame pucks and bar end mirrors are totally worth the money when it comes to keeping your bike off the ground. i came out worse than the bike :(

bum deal man. At least you're well enough to type this post. I'm also curious about the gear you were wearing. When I was hit it was only the 3rd time w/o a helmet...never again! Dress for the slide not the ride. Hope you heal soon and get back on 2 wheels.

Hate to hear that Rideboarder. Heal up and get back on as soon as you can. If it was your first then it'll be easy to over-think and hesitate before you start riding again. How'd it happen?

Sorry for the late post guys. Yeah I was wearing gear full face thank god, gloves, jeans, boots, and an icon field sheer vest. I wish I would have been wearing my full leather jacket because I got road rash all over my arms. the worst thing was I shattered my wrist which needed surgery for 12 screws but it's all good. If I get time I'll see about posting some pictures up. And yeah this is my first wreck but I'm not gonna let it stop me from riding, but I do know I will never wear just shorts and a t-shirt again.

smart man, even if the lesson did come a little too late. I've had my share of man meets-pavement, and man meets-metal NOT COOL [down][sad]

but I do know I will never wear just shorts and a t-shirt again.
Yeah, hate you had to find out that way, but at least your alive. Gear up, fully, every time bro. Few enough of us as it is.

damn rideboarder.. makin me rethink my haphazard ways, i love cruisin in shorts and a t-shirt but i think your experience kinda struck me for some reason, thanks for posting.

if you don't mind my asking though, how did you lay it down? like what happened?

honestly im not 100% sure what happened but all i know is front brake locked up and the wheel cocked to the side and thats all she wrote. but yeah man i liked riding in shorts and t-shirt too but now that ive been down i know how much the right gear can help and its just not worth it.

Sorry to hear about the crash. I've been down a few times. It happens to everyone at some point. The best thing you can do is be honest with yourself and learn from the crash. You did something wrong. Figure out what it was and learn from it.

I always dress for the crash. My absolute minimum gear is a full textile suit, helment, race boots and guantlet gloves. That is MINIMUM.

With full gear being helmet, race boots, gauntlets, leather suit and back protector. I've crashed wearing this gear and walked away with nothing more than a soar arm from the impact.

yes techmagic i have hit a bee or a rock before and your absolutely right it is enough to about knock you off lol. But like i said now that ive been down im wearing as much gear as i have every time i ride.
