I mounted mine today. Got it from my daughter as a Fathers Day gift, so its really special to me. I guess it doesn't matter where it is as long as its on there someplace. I no most hand them under the bike but ours have a muffler down there. I mounted mine near the oil cooler.

The story is that you are suppose to hang them at the lowest point. I have mine hanging from the lower oil cooler line. Got mine form my mom on my birthday last year. It has a chihuahua on it,lol. I have 2 chihuahuas, gotta love moms.
