Letting your buddy ride your bike?

ride their overweight sluggish lethargic handling tractors

Thats just mean![mad]

I have an 09 Fat bob and the bike gets it, sure it's a bit slower but man does it ride better than the Buell!

but man does it ride better than the Buell!

True, but there is a steep learning curve on the unique handling characteristics of each bike. Someone not familiar can get themselves in trouble real fast. That goes both ways.

From a girls point of view... kind of like everyone else is saying... if I know how they ride and know they wont **** my bike up I would let them but if I dont trust them with my car or other things I would not let them ride my bike.

Good luck with getting though to the guy... just tell him to get his own or go to a place that will let him test drive one.

Lots of good replies, I think I like cannondalemtb's the best but I'm going to have to add an addendum. You can ride it if you bring me something to ride that had better be as nice or nicer than mine!

Ride my bike? Yep $2500 deposit, drop it and it's yours. I keep your car till I get paid off.I just say deal or no deal !!! Show me the money!!!

I have a select few friends I let ride my bike. Other than that, there's no way.

I spent way too much money on this bike to let some douche drop it.

I swap bikes quite a few times especially with my father or his Riding friends who have been riding for longer than I've been born. the only time my friends ride is when we swap bikes and its the ones that have just as much experience if not more than I do.

i only swap bikes with one friend but he rides an 1125r and i ride a xb12r so its a pretty even swap i wouldn't trust anyone else with my bike. but my girl is off limits i dont trust anyone with her not even myself sometimes.

I let a few of my friends, that I ride with and know they can ride, swap once in a while. The Priller however ... nah ... she is all mine:D

if you said no more than twice your buddies is pushing his luck. the only two people I would let ride my bike are my father and little brother.

...and little brother.

You are braver then I am. I wouldn't trust my little brother driving a paper airplane I just got done folding.

I remember teaching (well, trying to teach him) to ride a motorcycle. It was a Honda XR80 that had been modified into a trike. The conversation went something like this:

[me] Ok Tom, now give it a little bit of gas and let the clutch out slowly. Once it starts to grab you will have to give it a little more gas to keep it going.

[Tom] Easy enough! I can do that. <opens throttle ALL THE WAY and dumps the clutch>

[me] Tom, get your ass off the ground and help me catch this thing! <running down a field chasing my dirt bike that is now doing a tail-dragging wheelie down a rock filled field>

a deposit is always required to ride. If they have $2,500 handy they can take it for a ride, this does not apply to my girlfriend.

Ive let a few of my friends ride it down the block and I hate it every time, basically if you dont own something that is worth as much as I'm paying for my Buell, no you cant ride it.
