I posted previously. I replaced the battery and am still having a problem. The bike won't start.

The bike turns over, and I can give it gas, and rev the engine. However, once i release the throttle, the bike gradually goes back down and shuts off.

The front headlight dims when I try to start the bike, like there isn't enough juice.

The battery is brand new, and fully charged. Any idea what else the problem could be.

check the ground...you'll probably have a loss somewhere due to bad connection.

I have seen a problem similar with snowmobiles who use electric start. I have noticed that guys who rarely use their sleds have problems with batteries dying. They instead pull over the sled with the pull cord and let the engine recharge the battery. This often leads to stator trouble. When the stator would go in the sled was similar to what ur describing. This is worst case scenario. I am new to the bike scene some maybe some of the gurus on this site could ring in and correct me if I am wrong.

So if what I said about sleds is the same for bikes....was NYY4 bikes battery constantly dying and his bike being roll started leading to a potentially bad stator? What do we no so far?
1. Battery has been replaced.
2. How are the plugs?
3. Has the voltage been checked on the coil? Faulty coil could mean no power to keep the cpu running which in turn means the fuel injection is not working properly and could be the reason the lights are dim.
4. Plug wires could be shorting?
5. Poor fuel injectors caused by poor winter storage meaning old gas gumming up and clogging fuel injectors.

I am out of ideas, anyone else.

actually not the ecm, but not enough power to fuel pump so that there's not enough pressure.
or not enough power for a good ignition and thus not a proper combustion.

so measuring the output the coil would be a good thing.
