I suppose I should post an introduction instead of just asking things of you guys, eh? :)

Got it last month, but I haven't been able to ride until recently. This is actually my first bike; got bit by the Buell bug and didn't find a 9 nearby like this.

My parents both ride - a mid to late 2000's Fat Boy and an early 90's Dyna Low Rider, if I'm not mistaken. My brother and best friend did, too, before they wrecked their respective rides.

The bike and riding in general are everything I imagined and more. I'm doing everything I can to learn to ride safely; I want this to be a lifelong passion.

Be careful, I know when I first got my xb12scg i was probably your age and the torque and power definitely took me by surprise. Just ease into it.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I'm 23, and yeah the power is certainly substantial in these bikes. I've been refining my throttle and clutch control every day; I respect how dangerous it can be.

gear up bro. It hurts if you do go down. Decent helmet (I think there is a thread going right now about helmets.) Google search is your friend. A lot of searches on Buell specific info brings you back here anyway. (shameless plug inserted here), decent jacket and gloves.

I love the Amber\black combo. Good looking bike.

Welcome to the club!
+1 to all the above mentioned advice!
All I will add is that you should start reading up on all things Buell.
Especially maintenance! Unless you want to waste a whole bunch of time and money at an HD dealer. Save yourself the frustration and be a REAL motorcyclist! Wrench on your own rig!
Don't worry, we'll help you along the way!
Be safe! And good luck with that nice ride of yours!

Welcome!!! Just take things slow I'm teaching my wife to ride that is the best advice I have besides the clutch is your best friend lol.

Thanks, guys.

I always wear my helmet, jacket, gloves, and (once I get them) riding boots when I ride. My best friend went down both times he decided not to wear his jacket and earned some scars to prove it.

I've got an oil/oil filter change already planned, Chickn. :D

Good advice above... both about safety gear and the value to the knowledge base on this forum. Looks like you are off to a good start. God Bless[up]
