I also have one, but it all comes down to what your willing to pay. Most times they are priced right around $100, just or reference.

Depending on where you are extreme's will probably be cheaper in the long run as I am in Canada.

Yeah, have to figure what shipping will cost you as well.

I have an extra but would ask $115 for it. Already Chopped and painted black[up] I was and still plan for a custom rear, if I dont sell this one first[smirk]

Dont mind the side rails.

xtremelow
the price you are asking is fair but i wanted to do the mod myself :D just nervous about doing it without having an extra on hand

I agree you can find them cheaper, but if you dont have the tools it is a bit hard.

Seeming you do have the tools I would find one bone stock and cut it up. Plus like I mentioned I actually have plans for my extra which isn't cut up yet. Doing a custom tail to add to my new bike build;) That is why I am asking a higher price than what some others may be willing to sell for, if they had an extra on hand.

Ya...I am interested in doing some mods on a bone stock one and I want to be able to say I modded the bike on my own....I don't wanna be the guy that went and bought all of his sweet parts that were nodded by someone else

Anybody have one lying around the garage and want to help out a fellow Bueller?? Not looking for free but since I am gonna cut it up im not gonna be paying a fortune for it either

and just like you, want a spare to keep, so do those that have them. so they are not as easy to come by as you may expect or as cheap as you may thought. cheaper than new, but certainly not throw away!

The one I have I payed $90 for and I have seen many go for $100, with the chop done.

I think your biggest problem falls with the fact that most people dont have two tail sections. Most guys who want to modify their tail piece just do so. Hell I dont know of anyone who went out and bought a brand new tail piece just to have an extra.....

Found two on ebay, one is used and they want $142 Buy it Now (its in GB) another is from a Harley Shop in FL new in the box, stripped but you want to modify it so it is perfect. $80 +$15 for shipping.

Here is the Auction Number (cant link the page): 290459097090

You don't really need a great amount of tools to mod the cheese grater. I did mine with a hack saw, bench grinder, a couple files and some sand paper and it looks like it came on the back. I can see how some specific looks would require more tools; like an angle grinder for example. but for the most part, its pretty damn easy, its just aluminum afterall! Just take it reallll slow and easy [up]

extreme... i kept a spare, just in case of rego issues. having the tail chopped makes them too short for hte wheel base to meet rego here.
