Looking for a good HID kit - already know the "how to"

Well, I'm not thrilled to revisit this thread, but since I started it....

I ended up ordering the 35 watt kit (I didn't want the 55) from DDM. $25 seems awfully cheap, but almost everyone else with HIDs is using it, I decided to take the plunge too. I want to use a delay relay. That was a little harder to find than I thought it would be. A couple of companies on line apparently carried them, but they were out of stock. I found one on EBay (already in the US) for like $30 so I bought it. Ironic that the relay costs more than the HID kit, but there wasn't much to choose from unless I wanted to do another international transaction... would have saved about $15 on it... chicken feed compared to the money I've spent already on other things for the bike.

How long was your harness? I'm concerned with space underneath the front fairing on my Blast, and the site says that Hi/Lo uses two ballasts as well. Do you think it would reach far enough to mount the ballasts underneath the seat?

I didn't get mine yet, but I doubt the harness would reach that far. I think with careful planning you can get two ballasts under the front fairing... other people have done it, so it must be possible.

My horn is hidden under the fairing is why is ask, that's all. And I'd like to keep the ballasts as far from the elements as possible. I suppose I could just buy some wire and extend the harness too. Thanks!

I don't remember exactly where the horn lives - anybody? It might be possible to extend the harness, but there might be too much of a signal loss... I don't know. If your horn is not located in the stock position, it might be better to move it if possible.

Well, I got my HID kit from DDM... did I miss something though? There were no installation instructions included and I couldn't find anything on the website. DDM HID's seem to be the conversion of choice... can somebody clue me in?

Mine didn't have instructions, but there is a good you-tube video of an install with delay relay, might want to take a look at it

I thought I did a follow up post on the install but maybe I didn't and just thought I did [cool] Anyway, the install was not too complicated. I found some guidance on the internet. The challenge was fitting the components securely behind the fairing, but even that wasn't too bad:

I had a voltage- dependent delay relay installed initially, but it wouldn't kick on in spite of the fact that my charging system is fine. I just got a 10 second timed delay relay. Hopefully I'll have time to get it in soon. Thanks!

The title of the video I seen was "Buell HID Headlight Install" and it is on a lightning.
