I've wanted a buell for a long time. Decided I want a xb12r, I found one local for sale, 2007 xb12r black/red 11,000 miles. The guy is stuck at $4400...has k&n and jardine, waiting to hear back on race ecm or not. Is that a decent price considering it's in good condition? I've searched and have found prices range quite a bit. Also anything I should really look for when I check it out? Any advice would be appreciated.

I just bought a 2006 for 2500$ with original exhaust, but it was filthy, had a few little issues, really bad back tire. I've got about 250$ more in it since I bought it, and spent about 6 hours cleaning it up. If its in great condition, clean, and good tires then it's probably worth 4400$.

Wow that seems like a decent deal granted it runs well. Did it have higher miles? I've seen a few in my area, 9rs and 12rs for $3-4k, but almost always have 20,000+ and scrapes and dings. This one just stands out a bit more, and has new batt, front tire, and having a carbon fiber jardine is a plus. I just hope it's mapped right.

It has 7990 miles on it. New battery too. I think I got a great deal. Just got my brake sensor today and my new back tire. Gonna put on new brake pads and new mirrors this weekend.

I recommend dont buy a Buell. They are junk.

It might be a unique riding experience, $4400 a reasonable price for an enthusiast, also the great cornering, besides looking badass they are junk. We all joined the forum to bitch about bad purchases. Dont make our mistake.

Yeah, I've been going back and forth on buying it. I went and checked it out yesterday, it's mint, but I've read a lot of horror stories about Buells problems, but it seams that it comes down to you either get a good one or bad one. I do also have a zx6rr and would like a second bike that is different, but not a cruiser...

Look the xb platform is built pretty well. Aside from perishables i.e. tires, bearings, and oil you should be good to go. We have all had stuff go wrong and that's to be expected with mechanical stuff. Italian frame, American motor, Japanese suspension and levers. And some Ford electrical connectors. You decide.

I'm going to embarrass myself now... I bought a 2007 XB12R with about 14k miles and a Jardine exhaust a month ago from a dealership that had it listed at $6995. I traded in my very good condition 2007 883 Sportster Custom AND paid $2900 to get it. My Sportster had bald tires and the Buell had almost new tires (I remind myself of this when I think about how much I paid for my Buell). Yes, I know I could've paid a lot less, but Buells don't often come up for sale in Hawaii, so I went ahead with the deal. I drove it home and the next day I found a pretty bad oil leak, which turned out to be from bad PCV valves. The dealer paid for its repair which they said came out to about $1400 for parts (PCV valves, oil filter, and oil) and labor. Was it worth it? I think so. My Firebolt is waaaaay more fun than my Sportster.

My xb12r is also from a dealership in Hawaii. Just put the new back tire on it. It's awesome. Can't get it to stick yet but I'm working on breaking it in. Lots of power.

I think I read your thread about bringing it home to find an oil leak haha. Yeah, 4400 doesn't seem so bad now! I went to pick it up Saturday without knowing he still owed 4100 on it, title is at the bank. Wish he would've told me that, hoping it's still there Friday so I can get the title and buy it.

Sounds good. Most people on here are nice and helpful if you need assistance. Lots of dicks on here too.
