i fricken love this bike...just got back from a 2500k - 1600 mile ride split over two days with a day off in between on my S lightning, mostly highway riding down and up the east coast of Australia, at least half of it @ a constant 140 - 160k's along with frequent squirts to 200k @ 6000 rev's so had a little bit left, need a new set of tyres now, altho they were already half worn but WOW i fricken love this bike, Erik sure put them together well, even me mate on his Repsol 954 had to admit that...the butt handled it alot better than i thought it would and only took about 15mins after each day to get some feeling back in it...lols but wouldn't of traded it for all the tea in china, did i say i fricken love this bike yet, would i do it again like that? hmmmmmm hell yea!! not right away tho and maybe spread over a few more day's to, we were on a mission and just pulling in to fill up and then smashing another tank of juice again and again and the bike did not miss a beat i'm soooo proud of it...so anyone sittin on the fence riding, buying wotever as nike seys just do it... GASM..yea

if nothing else, bicycle shorts next time. i don't think to put them on enough myself. and +1 on the bike

Buellgasm----love your enthusiasm for the bike ! I share that same enthusiasm about mine also. I try to find places or things to do so i can take the bike out, i even offer to go to the store for my wife! 90% of the time when the family and myself go to eat/shop i'll ride my Buell and my wife & 2 boys are in the car. I only wish their was some kind of payment for ALL the advertising I have given Buell for the past 4 years cause then i'd have alot of $$$ .[up]

hey thanx m202 i'll try that

while i'm here on our way back rode through a few hours of rain (didn't slow us down any) but for a half an hour my speedo stopped working, came right and then blipped a couple of times as if to do it again and has been okay since then?????????anybody have this issue...just for future reference

cheers

+1 on the bicycle shorts. My very first ride on my 9SL was the 5 hour highway ride home. I wore some bicycle shorts and made sure to shift my weight every few miles and by the time I was home I wasn't the least bit sore from the seat. My head felt like it was going to explode from all the noise and not wearing ear plugs, but that was my own dumb fault.

Maybe Erik could do something like Toyota, a "Loyalty" program of sorts, high dollar trade in values for our current Buells, then sell them back to us real cheap, and write it off on his taxes, 2 birds with one stone, get his new bikes in public all over the place, and keep the "Vintage" bikes out there too as testimonials to dependability and service[up]:D
