So I'm really thinking about getting the m-lock digital ignition and I know someone on here was also talking about doing this, but I can't remember who. Has anyone done this or know someone who has?? Just looking for some pros and cons and maybe some tips.

I brought it up not too long ago also. I didn't see too many cons with it actually.

I use one too. It works really well. The hardest part is deciding where to put it.

Thanks guys! What is the skill level of installing one from a 1 - 10. I am not a mechanical engineer, but have good reasoning. Did any of you or can any of you add some more pictures. Any issues since its been installed? Thanks guys!

I agree with EricZ. I dont think it was a hard install either.

I decided to go keyless when I couldn't figure out where to put the ignition switch in planning a custom dash. The sensor is mounted on top of my air filter cover in a black spray paint cap I used as a spacer and mount. It sounds hokey I know. But it works well. Then, I had my wife sew the RFID key into a bracelet so I 'wear' it. It nice not having to worry about a key when stopped.

I'll post up some pictures of the setup tonight when I get home from work.

Here ya go Ash. Sorry I'm a bit late. I've been to a lot of graduations and their parties. Heres the M-Lock unit embedded in a spray can cap. It's just right height to touch airbox cover.

I had my wife stick the RFID unit into a nylon watch band I have.

When I want to turn the ignition on or off I simply wave my wrist over that area. The nylon wrist band protects the airbox cover surface.

Only problem is I have a white mark from where the band sits on my arm that isn't tanned.

Cool. What's the purpose of this? Just so you need a key or can you still use the key?

The purpose for this in my case was I used a CR headlight and didn't know where I was going to fit the ignition into the mix.

I know the Nav unit and gauges aren't straight. The it's a work in progress.

The M-unit is small and can go about anywhere as long as you can get the RFID unit about 40mm near it so they can link up.

After I installed it. I started wondering why I need a key at that point. All I'm locking is the gas tank and seat. Around where I live, I dont think anyone has any interest in getting into either. So I bought the GrandStand Designs gas cap and removed the seat lock. I haven't been disappointed at all.

Makes since in your case. Why would others do it. Ease of access?? Theft deterrent?
