I just found out that I have orders to Japan. I was trying to find out where I could get a Maufacturer's Certificate that says my brakes meet Japanese Brake Standards? I have a 2008 XB12XT.
Any of you overseas folks have any idea?

I called Harley/Buell customer service and they said I need to contact my local Harley dealer. I doubt that the local guys working there will have any idea about what I'm talking about.

buells were produced for Japanese distribution, I'm sure the Japanese version of DOT should have something on the motorcycles?

I got a XB12S over here in Japan, and it looks like the Stateside brakes and all.

One thing - you will spend about $1000 getting it registered - budget for it. Foreign bike registration is supposedly easy, but expensive.

Here is a list of things out of the book that are different on the Japanese models to take into consideration.

Throttle Body
A/C baseplate
Front Brake Master Cylinder
Rear Shock
Muffler
Battery
Battery Tray
Headlight

I received an export letter from the dealer that I need to send to Harley. It asks what type of documents I need such as: conformity, brakes, smog, etc. I'll scan and post it for future reference.
