(09 1125R) My battery light has been coming on. The bike sits a lot. I put a charge on it & it rode fine for 20 minutes or so. Then came on again - this time with the engine light too. It stalled a couple of mile from the house. I let it sit for a minute & was able to start it back up. Both light still came on. Got the bike home. I'm a rider, but no mechanic. I've been reading a lot about stator/rotor problems with these bikes. Bike only has about 3500 miles on it.
Does this sound like a 'charging problem' , or hopefully jut need a new bat ? Thx for any help.

I vote for the battery, just because you will need a new one even if it is the reg or stator

Sorry to say, mine was doing the same thing when the stator took a crap, battery and engine light going on and off intermittently, I also had a bad battery. If you look up how to read out your stator with a multimeter, it will tell you for sure if it is your stator. Start the bike and change the screen so you can see your battery voltage, that is generally a pretty good indication. Also, your battery may look like it is working fine until you put a load on it. Only way you will know is if you get it tested. Good luck.

Yea that's your stator. Test it just to make sure and prepare to pull it for a rewind.

Stator, Rotor, and Battery. Replace all the if they are original. Trust me you will be better of doing it all now.

Thanks for the info, all.

To any 'long term' owners - Is this Stator/Rotor issue something that is a 'one time' fix, or is this going to continure to be a problem ? Only have 3500 miles on the bike, for heaven's sake. Love the bike, & wanted to 'stay American' in the realm of 'rockets', but my pocketbook can't stand a lot of 'shop-time'. Also, i've read to go with an 08 replacement part (stator). What's the difference in 08 & 09 (my bike is 09) ? What can i expect to $ pay $ for a repair at the dealer ?

From what I have heard, if you replace the rotor with the one off of EBR racing, when you replace/rewind your stator, you should be good to go for the life of the bike. If your handy with a wrench, this should not be too much in cost. Anything that you have a shop repair, is normally pretty costly.

The hardest part about a rotor swap is finding a torque wrench with enough balls to torque it. Other than that its just a lot of bolts out and a lot back in.
