You are welcome. I was an honor to serve.

Today I honor and salute all who have served and are serving today.

Share a little story for Memorial Day to honor those who have, are, and will serve!

My grandfather passed away last week, on his birthday no less. He was a medic in the Navy and I knew he was a war hero, but he wouldn't talk about it so I never knew the real story. After he passed, we were able to go through all of his military documents, clothing, etc. For those who know can help shed light on this if it's changed, but Navy medics used to be embedded with infantry on the front lines. My grandfather was one, and my uncle was one as well and they both were on the front lines in the Korean war(grandfather) and in Iraq(uncle) in the 90's. They see the worst of the worst.

Well my grandfather was in the shit as they had broken through enemy lines when he saw a Marine get shot. They were in hand to hand combat at this point and without hesitation, he ran through gun fire to his aid. Pulled him from a trench and carried him back to safety. After working on the Marine, he succumbed to his wounds and unfortunately didn't make it. As he was pulling the Marine, he saw a Korean soldier who was shot, but alive. He ran back to the trench again and pulled this Korean from the trench and saved his life.

The reason this was important was by saving him, they were able to interrogate the Korean soldier for valuable info which helped them complete their mission. The document didn't state what the mission was.

During all of this my grandfather was shot in the leg while performing his duties. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his valiant actions while in combat!

I was reading all of this from his documentation for his Purple Heart! I was proud! He was a true American Hero!

Thank you for all who serve!

Yes thank you from all of the civvies here. Life in America could not be better. On this day we are all one party... Americans. I think a lot of us forget that on election years.

Thank you to all who are remembering what Memorial Day is really about. It isn't the sales or the BBQ's it is about remembering those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. I spent most of my adult life serving my country and would do it again.

Thanks again and I hope everyone has a great day.

Thank you to all of my fellow brothers and sisters serving our country. No matter what branch-- Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Army, Marine Corps-- I would give my life for any of you. One team, one country, one family.

Ride safe, and never forget those who have served beside you.

For those who have not served, you are a part of our family whether you feel it or not. Thank you all for your support.

Happy Memorial Day
