Motorcycle Hitch Hauler

What are you using to tow this? 400lbs seems like a lot of tongue weight. I wouldn't put my bike on something like that, but that's just me. I would get an actually trailer (I have a 3-place trailer, can handle 3 dirt bikes, or two full size bikes). A single place MC trailer can be found on craigslist for not much more than what that costs.

They are rated for 500lbs and have seen a few of them on Rvs so think there safe or wouldn't be sold.I never heard of anyone losing a bike.

Dont buy the harbor frieght one its junk. A friend had it and a dirtbike bent it. I have a versahaul brand made for street bikes best thing I ever bought. I love it. I live in NYC where the roads are the worst and have not had a problem. I have used it dozens of times with my xb12ss.

not sure that would be my first choice at all, says 400lb max, after a bump there may be 500lb atleast of downward pressure on that metal, but just my 2 cents.

I was asking what vehicle you would be using to haul the bike using that device. You need a pretty beefy vehicle to be able to handle 400/500lbs of tongue weight on the hitch (Every pound of your bike and the device will be directly on the hitch). You might have a vehicle that can handle towing 5000lbs, but I am just making sure you check the tongue weight maximums for your vehicle.

I'm not saying it's not safe, it very well may be. I've never seen anyone haul more than a dirt bike or scooter on one. Certainly nothing close to 400lbs like our bikes. I wouldn't trust it to hold my bike, but that's just me. For $300 you can get a nice motorcycle trailer, so in my mind I wouldn't spend $200+ on something like that, when you can get a trailer that can hold more weight safer for nearly the same price.

Hitch Tongue Weight is 740bls
Looking into Cycle trailers now just didn't want to spend $2000.00 now but sure is looking like it.

That will handle it fine as long as it's got the Hemi and not the V6. How do you like it, that's a Citadel model right?

Also, no way you need to spend $2k on a motorcycle trailer. You can get a brand-new triple place for about $1200. I know you can get a single place for around $500 new, and they are normally going for $300-$400 used.

Yes its a Citadel with Hemi 5.7 love it only down side is the all wheel drive so my mpg are only 16 to 18 on a good day.Last years trip to the Dragon with two bikes behind her got 13 to 15ish mpg.Found a Shorelander 3 up trailer for $1100.00 but didn't really care for it would be to hard to load a bike alone.Heres what I'm thinking about now.Trailer Thanks

That trailer you are looking at is way over priced and cant be used for anything else.

This is a pretty good cheap trailer and can be used for hauling all kinds of things. One sheet of plywood will cover the bottom if you want. $600 is way better than the prices you are looking at. Craigslist usually has decent trailers too.

I have an 03 trailblazer 6 cylinder handles the rack without a problem. Ill post photo later of it on truck with a firebolt on it. Again quality wise you want versahaul.

Agate, I have a 2nd gen D, SLT with the 5.7, and I bought it getting about 18MPG, but the best thing I did was add an AirHog air filter (basically a K & N branded by Fram) and I have realized 22MPG from Chicago to Indy at 70MPH. That's probably the slowest it has been driven on the interstate, but I digress. I would STRONGLY suggest that or an FIPK.

Back to the subject at hand...I would invest in a good trailer. That bike hitch scares me personally.
