Nice finds, Buddha! I enjoyed reading that piece, that's why I enjoy my Buell so much, we really are a "breed apart", but are essentially carrying on many different traditions!

i giva nod if I feel I'm busy at the moment. and give a wave if I'm waved at
I don't wave just to wave at any two wheeler. I wave at scooter Buells and people that have something in common. or have the moxy to drive something different .

I wave at everyone and nod if I cant use my hand, it is part of riding a motorcycle imo. Most Harley riders around my way dont wave, most if not all sport bikes wave.

Get this if it is too much work to throw your hand to the side.

i live in west central illinois and work in south east iowa. most cruizers will wave no matter if im on the firebolt or my vrod muscle. sportbike most sportbike guys dont wave regardless of what i ride. i really dont care but i do wave and wave back. so far this is what i have learned about people and the bike they ride... goldwingers are genneraly snobs and stuck up, harley guys are most asshole and arogant because what you ride is not a harley, bmw guys are stuck up, and a lot of jap bike guys thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread. and buellers are quite helpfull and willing to lend a hand if they can. of course there are people that dont care what you are riding just the fact that you are riding and will talk to you, give you the nod or wave, and help you when they can. i go on many memorial rides for my brothers and sisters in arms that i have lost and we all ride differnent brands. wheather it my firebolt or another guys old chopper or even the broad that rides 500cc scooter. we all came together for one reason. to honor our fallen and enjoy the ride.

If I'm not riding hard, I'll throw the wave out to anyone willing to receive it. It really is just an acknowledgment of someone that understands. Can't count how many times I've been out on the bike or in the Z or in the truck and have stopped to help somebody out.

It's just what good people do.

I have always laughed at the biker waving and attitude. I enjoy all bikes and I wave to all I pass because it is a passion of mine. When you pass typically cruisers sometimes and they go out of their way to deny to give acknowledgement you wonder why. A guy I work with who is middle aged, rides a dyna low rider, he has rode his entire life, and when he was younger he rode year round 10,000+ a year told me something I found odd. He said he doesn't wave to anyone because the new motorcycle attitude is not about comradely. If you were broke down no one would care is his thought but his f-you attitude is what I see wrong here.

I ride early spring though late fall/ early winter as much as I can and I get rained on, I sometimes freeze, and other-times I sweat but it's all in the enjoyment of 2 wheels. It's a little hard to give respect to those who only ride when conditions are perfect for shorts and a tank top and the bar hopping individuals. I can appreciate seeing other people on the road doing the same thing I enjoy and that's why I wave.
