Hanging out with my some friends drinking some beer and i come outside to two of my dumb friends head butting each other wearing my helmets. im guessing i should be worried about that huh? i know it takes away the snell rating. any thoughts/ comments about the structure of the helmets would be great. thanks guys

i heard two pops from the other room so i think it was pretty hard. as for damage none visible just a scratch in the graphic of the helmet. time for them to pool there money and get me a nice shoei.

its not all that bad. it was an hjc which i bought for about 125 and an arai that i got for free when i bought my buell (the helmet is ugly as hell) im not all that mad.

It's the internals of the helmet that will go before the actual shell cracks, I've been in a pretty serious crash before without the shell cracking so that's not a good indicator. Hopefully your friends dare good enough guys to replace them. Sounds like you should lock up your helmets somewhere safe and leave some cheap old football helmets laying around for them.

I have been told that even if you drop a helment on a hard surface, even from a few feet, that the internals are compromised and it is no good. I wouldn't wear either helmet again.

Dropping a helmet or impacting stresses the shell.
If they hit hard I would toss it or add it to the wall collection.
