My exhaust fell off!

I don't see how re-packing has anything to do with the end cap blowing off, and you certainly get more than 600 miles on a re-pack.

It looks like a fatigue issue with the aluminum can more than anything. I have not seen anyone post up about their carbon fiber or Titanium pipes blowing apart. Ti and Cf have a much higher tensile strength than Al, so it stands to reason this is an issue with just the Al. I could be wrong though... it happens on rare occasion...

I love my CF Jardine and sold my Buell race exhaust to get it. Don't get me wrong, I would never buy the Al can, and Jardine should step up and take care of their customers.

I have the aluminum and this has caused me to start checking it every ride... but so far so good knock on wood

Part of buells tune ups are "nut and bolt entire bike". Browland it shouldn't take something like this to happen. Guys check your sh&t!! When is the last time everyone checked their air pressure?

or jardine could just make something that isnt a piece of ****.

i do agree you should check things but you shouldn't have to check this. do you check welds on your frame with dye and uv lights yearly? if jardine made the frame it would probable break in half since it is aluminum.

[up] I always one over my bike before a ride but I don't think I should have to wiggle check my exhaust

toofst next u will have me finger checking each visable bolt before a ride?

If Jardine Anodized the can with the military grade of harder anodization it probably would prevent this and it would give them more options on color. Military anodization is harder than grade 1 and adds thickness to the aluminum. Nome Sane?
