I had a low side today at about 40mph on a curve that that became tighter than I thought it would be. I came in a little faster than I should have and tried to correct but saw that I was going to run out of room. Instead I stood up and ran into the grass off the road. It would have been ok but I didnt see that the grass developed a steep downgrade and slid down on my left side.

The only damage was I finally lost that broken left mirror and scratched the left pod. Not to mention all the grass that went into the left pod. They only thing that got hurt was my pride more than anything.:D

My group stopped and helped me out. Got the bike back on the road and she started like nothing happened. No other damage and she rode like nothing happened.

One thing I did notice is that the front brake became grabbier, is kinda how I describe it. There really was no way to progress brake feel, it was either on or not. Has anyone messed around with pad material or changed the cylinder to modulate some feel to the front brake?

That sucks man. At least you're not hurt. Go buy a lottery ticket cuz it's your lucky day.

If it wasn't for the high cost of fixing my bike($800), I would have considered my lowside fun.

Think of this as a learning experience though. Sometimes all you can do is just lean it farther.

Just lowsided mine on Tuesday. I rode mine home also with what ended up being a broken foot. Glad to hear your not injured. [up]

Yeah, im very lucky. I had some Teknic pants on and they have some pretty good knee armor. Once my knee hit the ground I got flipped onto my back and slid for a little bit as my backpack kinda slowed me down and stopped me. I should have leaned it farther.

Good to hear you are ok also onequick.

just reading your post mate... this is a pic of my mates 'lowside'

that buffed out with went ndry and some patience. good luck with it. the gills are pretty tought.

on a side note and more for curiosity, but isnt a 'lowside' loosing hte front in the turn and going down? this reads more like you ran out of turn and off the road. always curious as to how terms are used.

clean and inspect the brake components first, could be a bent hose fitting or something cheap.

Take the brake pads out put some sandpaper 200 grit or so and sand a light layer off each pad you may have some debris in there make sure you go in all directions figure 8's and swirls so its not just in one direction. reinstall and check the feel.

Thank you all for the advice. Gonna check her out in a bit. She rode fine home about 30 miles or so from our last stop.

That pic of the CR was mine just on the left side.

I guess I called it a low side since I didnt go over the bars.

mate... it should just rub out. the colour is right way through the plastic, just start with a nice gentlre rub with san dpaper and get finer and finer till you need to buff it.

that second vid is funny and stupid. the dumass is so focused on getting a good pic shot, but his form is so bad. his body position is way oposite to that of the bike. bike is leaning over way too far and him not nearly enough. see it all the time on one of our local roads here as well.
