my girl rides a honda vtx classic..the bike does not fit her,its huge,I cant convert her she will not even remove her big fury seat cosey! I like that she has a bike and have fun riding with her but it would be great if she had something that was faster, better handeling and stoping. she is tiny and it has crash bars, big giant seats, sissy bar, whitewalls..all the gay stuff I laugh at..I am trying not to hurt her feelings but she loves the bike, however she complained its had to get around tight places and could not belive how my bike cornered..but still says she needs her bike to do long trips with her dikes on bikes gang..what to do?

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there." — Bob Marley

(note the part about not changing her)

GOOD LUCK.

Sounds sneaky and underhanded, but if you trust her with your bike.. switch bikes for a little while and get her on the buell and take her to places you know the buell will handle better. Might be hard to get her to switch back eventually. You're on your own there. The only thing it costs you in the mean time is a dark or reflective visor, so noone sees you riding pee wee hermans bike.
I do agree with the other opinions here. She's already on a bike, which makes you rather lucky considering what others guys need to do to get their ladies to try it.

No doubt! My girl rides the same kind of bike, but I am glad that she rides. She won't even try to ride mine (I have an Aprilia, but owned XB12)! She likes what she likes though and she rolls with me even though she make think my bike looks silly :) In fact, I am on hers today because I am having an oil in the airbox problem (overfilled[mad]) and don't mind her bike. It is of course down on power and has all the amenities including cup holder (which I bought for her when she gets thirsty on rides), but I do think about guys whose ladies don't even ride with them. It is something I enjoy even though I have to ride slower at times, but we have an understanding. If the road opens in to some twisties....I will wait for her at the end. A VTX is also a good size bike! My girl has the Shadow 1100 Aero white walls and all :)

I read this on a cruiser forum, I bet it's your girlfriend...

my boy rides a Buell XB..the bike does not fit him,its tiny,I cant convert him he will not even put a comfy seat on his bike! I like that he has a bike and have fun riding with him but it would be great if he had something that he'd ride at a legal speed, was more stable and smoother. he is big and it has axle sliders, all blacked out, way too low handlebars, rim tape, covered in plastic..all the gay stuff I laugh at..I am trying not to hurt his feelings but he loves the bike, however he complained its boring on the open road and could not belive how uncomfortable his bike was on the highway..but still says he needs his bike to do long rides with his **** on bikes gang..what to do?

If she wants a cruiser I'd hop on back and tell her to take me for a ride. Sounds like a comfortable way to get around.

To behonest, between telling your girl that her bike isn't good enough for you, and calling her and her friends dykes, this post kinda makes you sound like an ass that doesn't realize how good he has it, haha.

Dont want to be a dick but maybe this is why you just got divorced be happy she rides at all.

Don't be a bike snob dude.
2 wheels are 2 wheels.
Just realize that every time you hop on your bike it doesn't have to be a hot lap to wherever.
Take your time, enjoy it.
Personally ride behind her, you might enjoy the view.

I think you should just ride faster than her everywhere. Power up those hills and torque away from her on the freeway. See if she is tempted to get something that she can keep up with you on.

My GF wants a Forty Eight sooo bad. I'm really bummed about it because she has no interest in doing the types of rides that I want to do. She just wants to ride around town (which I have no interest in doing)

buy her a bike that she can use with you. or introduce her to the sport tour line of the bike world...

I finally got my girl to ride her own bike (well, she is riding my CBR which is a track bike that I had to make street legal for her again.) I lucked out though and she likes sport bikes ;)

simple. you buy a cruiser, she buys a Buell, then you both have each type of bike and can ride them whenever you please! My wife and I have 2 Buells, an XB12Scg & 1125cr. We also have a Harley Dyna Superglide Custom. We have a 250 Ninja that we are going to sell and then eventually get her a Harley Iron 883 or 48, and we will both have a Black Harley and a Red Buell. :D[up]

bitching about your girl riding a cruiser instead of a sportbike is like complaining about winning $1 million instead of $10 million, not going to get much sympathy here.

listen to bob

Dude, my women made me buy her a bike cause she wanted to ride along, which made me super happy, but... After she learned and rode for maybe 5 times she said it's not for her and she doesn't enjoy it as she thought she would. Now I have it sitting in the garage collecting dust. Totally wasted money and time... BTW anyone interested in 2001 Blast?

So be quiet and don't complain ;) Just be happy she rides at all [up]

My wife didn't want me to get my Buell, then nicknamed it Pinky (WTF - it's a black XB12S), and refuses to ride on it - not even once.

I ride my bike. She goes shopping. She doesn't ride with me. I don't shop with her. Sounds perfect to me!
