hobart 4043 1/8 aluminum welding rods

got my oil lines, dipstick and swing arm brace and also the fork rebuild kit today. i might try to drop the parts off at the powder coater tonight

dropped everything off at the powder coater last night, he said it would be a week to 10 days because he some other stuff to do and he might have to sand down where i weld a little more. I guess the flap disk didnt get it quite smooth enough and you would be able to see the scratces. Its gonna be a little longer than i thought but it will be worth it. i guess its just a waiting game now. I'm hoping for next weekend to have it together.

I'll take your old swingarm off your hands to powdercoat for my bike. Yours is looking good.

sounds like a fun project. I want one that I can powdercoat to match the rest of my coat. my 04 has a good swingarm its just rubbed down a little by the axle from a low speed slide.

well i picked everything except the frame and swingarm from the powder coater yesterday. Got my forks rebuilt today, thats definitly a pain in the ass. I used 15w oil to make it a little stiffer. The frame and swingarm are supposed to be done sunday so hopefully sometime next week ill be riding it. The powder coat cost me a little more than i was hoping, it ended up being $600 for everything. heres some pics

yea the forks are pretty shiny, there gloss black but the rest of the bike will be flat black i think it looks pretty sweet.

Beefy, what training are u talking about?

o haha i forgot about that hanging up. i was a LAV repairmen with 2d maintenance battalion, ordinance maintenance company at camp lejeune. we had alot of tank and arty guys too. I grabbed up the old company sign when they got a new one

Dude looks awesome but won't that decrease oil capacity? If you have a decrease in oil capacity have you planned for an increase in cooling capability? You will have sufficient supply of oil but your bearing temp will increase......will it damage the engine....if you are a limit rider you may want to consider an after market oil cooler.
