Ok. Sounds like you did it correctly. Thanks for the clarification.
I've never had to test a TPS but if it's not communicating it's going to be really hard to get the bike to start let alone run right.
For example, if the TPS is faulty you could
physically have the throttle open but the ECM is getting a signal that it's closed. Hence no fuel delivery or not adequate delivery for start up.
At least that's how I thinks it all works. I'm sure lunatic will correct me. He's pretty good with this online/forum trouble shooting stuff.
