Hey guys,

I have the opportunity to buy a 2004 XB12r, white, with about 20k miles on it.

It was apparently in a low side, some scrapes, but seller said he went through the whole thing and has it in top shape. He is listing it for just above $3,000. He said it has a new top end, tires, filters, sensors, etc.

My question is this: Is it worth that? There are many Buell's available for around that with substantially less miles that have never been laid down (though he showed me pics and it is not trashed by any means).

I want to offer $2600 but just want to make sure I am not a dick for doing so. What do you think?

Thanks!

If there are many other Buells around for that price with less miles why not get one of them? One that's not been layed down and lower miles. From my experiences the price of a Buell just depends on your location and how many are available around you.

I purchased my 05 xb12s with 13k miles almost mint for 3,650. I know they're not the same bike but just an idea. I wouldn't be afraid of offering less than 2600. You can start low and then maybe he will send a counter offer. Just remember once you make an offer you cant really offer less...

it sounds like a good place to start. offer like 2500 and see if he will meet you somewhere in the middle. I think its worth 3k tho.
