Need opinions please, not sure what to do.
I have a near perfect 03 XB9R Firebolt with just a few of the normal little mods that almost everyone does to the bikes. Nothing special but she is clean, runs great, rides great, sounds great and looks good.
I like everything about the bike but the comfort level. I would really like a more relaxed riding position. I also have concerns for my girlfriends comfort levels because she loves to ride as well.
So here is the dilemma….. I have run into a guy that really wants me to sell him my bike. He really wants it but he is trying not to pay top dollar for it. I am thinking I want to get $3000 or better for it. 3K is really the bottom dollar that I would be willing to take for it I think and only because the bike is in almost showroom condition and needs absolutely nothing. If It was a little rough around the edges, I most certainly would be willing to come down on price if I really wanted to sell it.
I have no problem with selling and buying another bike. I love flipping bikes. But I really like my Buell and if I sell it for 3K, that is about all I have to replace the Buell with. In my area, trying to find a good $3000 dollar machine is very hard.
So….
Do I sell it and what kind of a selling price do you guys think I should stick with?
Do I keep her and ride her as she is?
Do I dump a little money into her and try to find risers and drop pegs?
Do I modify the hell out of it and turn it into something between a Firebolt and a Lightening?
As far as replacement bikes that I would consider, almost any type of an adventure bike would be cool, Monsters, VFR’s, Speed Tripples. Something still kind of sporty but still handles well. I have also thought about finding a Sportster and pumping up the motor a little and just tricking the bike out some looks wise.
Just looking for opinions on it guys. I figured the best people to ask are other Buell riders.
