NEED SERIOUS HELP!!!

Ok guys im new to this forum and I need some help. My 03 XB9 started making some chattering noise in the transmission area. I took it in to a HD dealer and they daignosed that possibly the bearings in the transmission is gone bad. I love the bike and would like to keep but I'm being forced to sell it as is due to cost ineffectiveness. Is there any other engine out there I can put on the bike besides the V-Twin? Any help is greatly appreciated.[confused]

why dont you want to stick with the v-twin? if you are going to spend the money to replace it you might as well replace it with what is there.

there is also some engines on ebay. dont think its worth your time and or money to try and put something different in its place.

Not without serious modification. You'd spend way more than the bike is worth.

Are you/they sure the trans is bad and it's not just a loose primary chain, bad adjuster/worn shoe or something relatively simple? The Sportster trannies in these things are pretty durable. It normally takes a LOT of miles or serious abuse to do one in.

i have a 2003 xb9 too. i switched oils and it ran to lean on the oil, causing the engine to sound like it was knocking. the oil line was bleeding to thin and oil wasnt reaching the right spots. what kind of oil are you running and did you just recently switch?
(my problem was farther forward then transmission so this might be an ineffective post if its far back on the bike)

Thank you all for your thoughts and comments. I really want to keep the V-twin but I dont think it would be worth the price for the bike. I will look @ Buellsterparts to see what I can do. Thanks again guys
