New battery= engine sputter?

Hey guys I recently changed my 05 firebolts battery and now when I open her up she just sputters from around 3k rpm and up. Also the gauges flicker when this happens. Any ideas what this could be?

..... Better check those battery connections man ... sounds like they are starting to have connection issues with the vibrations from 3k on up ... just my 0.02 ..

Defective battery? Check it when under load. While cranking it should be 10+ Volts still

Check connection and grounding! Also look at Battery to Ground Cable.

After checking everything with a buddy we decided it was the voltage regulator! Can anyone recommend a good place to pick on up from that won't rip me off?
