New blast owner having break down

ok guys I just bought a 2006 blast on monday rode it home got some riding in on tuesday got it out this morning tried to start it and it clicks makes no sound for 5 seconds then acts like it is trying to start but wont turn over... i checked the IGN fuse its intact and all the lights and things turn on so i dont think it is the battery... ANY IDEAS?!?!?!?! very desperate!!

Takes many more amps to turn the engine over than just to run the lights so I'd say it's your battery. They'll test it under load for free at any Auto Parts store if you run it in to them.

blast are pretty light and not Fuel injected you can always push start it so you can take it to the local auto parts store like steve suggest. I agree it sounds like the battery is dieing.

thanks guys! the parts place i took the battery to said they couldn't test it... they were useless... just in case its not the battery any other ideas??

put the battery back in and tighten it all back down. Get some jumper cables and give it a jump. Ride it around and charge the battery back up.

If it won't continue to run, you could have a faulty charging system.

PS: If you own a motorcycle, you ABSOLUTELY have to own a battery tender. At the very least, you should try putting the tender on it to charge the battery back up.

My guess though, you've got a dying battery. Spend the money on a tender while you're buying a new battery.

These Battery Tender Jr. chargers are great and inexpensive with circuit protection.

It was the battery!!!you are all geniuses!! thanks for helping!! My fiance has a battery tender he just needs to get it back from his thief of a friend! the issue that i found that is causing everything is that the positive side of the battery is digging into the bottom of the seat and becoming loose... my battery doesn't have anything that is holding it done or stabilizing it or anything it is just loose under the seat... is that how they all are?? if so is there something you recommend to hold it in place?? if not what is mine missing???
