Hello folks,

To start off, won't lie I haven't been riding but a few months and already own the beast of the 2009 1125CR(stock as far as I can tell, 150 miles, first owner).

Could be I'm new to motorcycles in general or could be I'm weak of heart, but how normal is the frame getting really hot? Wouldn't consider myself THAT much of a pussy lol, but I'm curious if it's normal to be scalding hot. Temp went up to 135*F and really haven't done highways yet. Obviously sitting, it'll generally be pretty hot. Sifting through the forum, seems like I'm in the normal operating temperature range with it on average of 116-127*F.

So I guess my question is, am I just being a pansy and need to ranger up & deal with it, or do I possibly have issues? Oil is good, coolant is good(added to the expansion tank today).

Appreciate any comments and help, thanks.

The bike gets hot at idle but once you get it on the hwy it isn't to bad. It is normal for the CR though. Be careful though if the bike gets to hot the stator will get fried then you will have the same problem 90 percent of us have had. My suggestion would be get the Rotor modification now and hopefully solve your problem before it starts.

Appreciate the feedback. Looking more through the forums, seems most people typically get their stator rewound. Would just the rotor mod for now be alright in of itself or should I look into sending the stator off for a rewind as well? Currently don't think there's anything wrong as of yet with it then again, still new.

Another issue. So I filled up on gas. Then went to start and electrical panel came on then immediately shut off before I could start. And it stayed off for a few minutes, maybe 10 total? After sitting, turned key to ignition, electrical came on no issue, started and rode no problem. No engine or battery lights previously, battery put out 12.8 - 13.1 volts before I headed to gas station, temperature was at 137-145* but went down to 120*ish while riding before I stopped. And when it did come back, it was 121*.

Thoughts? Again, I'm thoroughly new to Buell and motorcycles in general, so I'm somewhat not sure where to begin.

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, I can't help you with your specific question as I don't own an 1125 myself (although this all sounds familiar and normal) but I wanted to welcome you and let you know of the "obligatory pics or it didn't happen" policy that we have here! :p Let's see pics of your new toy!

Please support the sponsors here when you can and let me know personally if we can help you with a set of axle sliders for your 1125. Have a look at our site. We're currently having a 10% off Labor Day special for the rest of today.

Most of all...Ride that beast safely! There's a lot of unleashed power there! [cool]

i dont think theres nething plain about a CR.[up]looksgood! Welcome. I've only rode an 1125 once and it seemed to be hotter @ low speeds than my XB, so ur prolly ok. As long as its runs normal coolant temps.
