I got my ebr preprogrammed ecm a while ago installed it today fired up bike and tooj it out. I put it down so it wouldnt hit seat and im only 180 lbs and it idles a little funky even after tps reset. And blubbers out at half throttle for 8 seconds then opens up and pulls hard. Looked at ecm and its cracked on yhe oppisite side of theglue on one connector.... not too happy as its not suppised to be broke out of the box.

This is what I got when I opened the box to install it. :(

I guess my pics didn't work but you can always copy and paste link into your browser. I hope EBR will warranty this.

Anybody else have this problem?

Runs great with original ecm, which was cracked once but I dried it out and sealed it up. I went to Harley and bought a new one last year and had them flash it. It ran and idled on trailer and they never test drove it. They couldn’t figure out how to do the tps reset, they “couldn’t find the cable” which they didn’t know it was done with key and throttle. So when I got it home from them I went to go for a ride, it wouldn’t barely rev, it spit and sputtered. I did the tps reset with the throttle and still didn’t work. I am running the E3 plugs. I received the EBR Pre-Programmed ecm for my D&D exhaust, installed that and it idles like its really rich. When I go to rev it it blubbers at about 3k rpm. When I go to ride it it blubbers at 3k and opens up to redline but around 6k feels week to want to pull. If I’m going 55mph in 5th and just open it up it barely speeds up. If I pull over and throw my original ecm back on and do a quick tps reset, it pulls like crazy and runs great just pops on decal . I put in ngk iridium plugs today and gave the EBR one last run and it seemed to help a little but if your not past the 3k power band when you open it up it falls flat on its face and pops and jerks. So my concern is with the ecm being right, or what else could there be? I have no engine codes. My only mods are, open air box mod, D&D exhaust. I noticed the black connector socket on the EBR ecm pulls back from the housing if you try to flex it lightly, so my concern is that the ecm is bad from the get go. But why does it run like crap with the new ecm from Harley and this one? Coinsidence? Then with the sealed up cracked one it runs great. I did check the throttle cable play and adjusted it so there's no play, I checked the throttle body butterfly and its closed at zero throttle and straight up and down and full throttle. I’m stumped. Thanks,
Craig

After speaking to ebr, they are saying they didn't see a problem with the ecm other than the chip out of the connector edge. He said they replaced it with a new one and if I still have a issue then I have a fuel delivery issue. But it runs good with the stock one, so I'm at a loss as to why it wouldn't with this other one. hmmmmm. Thinking on just taking my stock ecm and bike to a dyno and having a custom tune done. Does anybody know once the custom tune is done, if the battery goes dead if it stores it or loses it?
thanks

Hopefully your alternate ECM will solve the problem.. Once you get it running right you should be very happy with it. I sure like my '07

I got the new ecm and tried it out, it ran crappy at first but actually pulled out of it, seems it has to warm up alot more. It seems though that the throttle is alot more surgey at little throttle. "sorry for typo". But over all cleaned up and runs great :). I was worried as EBR blamed it on my bike not getting enough fuel.

One thing to think about is that the entire system has to re-learn itself. Give it a rip around the neighborhood (with a friend with a truck somewhere on standby) and run your bike for a good 20 minutes. If it doesn't clear up by then, you definitely have an issue.
