I have a 2002 X1W,79 Yamaha RD-400F Daytona,2010 Ultra Classic. The Ultra's my work horse(already at 15,000 miles),the Yamaha's yet to be restored, and when the need for speed arrives the Buell is the only answer! I'm here to tell you that at the age of 50 the need is still there!Who needs Viagra, speed and fresh chickens the answer!

Hello I just picked up a 01 X1 and love the bike! It needs work so off I go a good winter project. First thing is I need to bring it into the dealer so they can tell me why it runs bad. The guy I bought it from put on a Vance & hines exhaust, and a force wind intake. Will the dealer be able to diagnose the problem fairly easy?

Former Tuber! Had a 98 S1, and a 00 M2.
Now nothing. Still love the tubers, dont think they get enough respect. Plan to buy another S1 soon, but an looking also for a XB.

Gmaan, It depends on the dealer, most HD techs aren't given the time to look at each bike. I spent $290 on my XB and when I got it back it was worse. I took it to a local bike shop ( Richmond Super Bike, Va.)and they got it running very strong. They have worked on my X1 as well.

New to the forum and am a hard core tube fan. Most of my friends ride tubers and the majority of my work is on tubers because of the age for the most part. I do like the newer buells but have a soft spot for tubes.

new buell s3 owner.
just asking. whats the cheapest way to get rid of this ugly air cleaner for something smaller on my 2001 fuel inj. buell. and still run right. it already has the power comander and race slip on muffler. ecm race.
any answers?

robporter9, Check American Sport Bike(ASB). Ebay is a good place to look for stuff cheap. I have a billet unit w/a K&N filter about $200 from ASB it works great!

01 X1. 20+K miles. Owned since new. Force Exhaust, Force Winder Intake, Race ECU, Power Commander, Adjustable levers, Wave Rotor, Sintered pads.
High sided once, low sided twice. Had it fixed under warranty about 30 times for EVERYTHING until it ran out. Getting ready to have the suspension rebuilt through Race Tech. I've probably been there and done that. Questions? I'll take a crack at it.

I'm looking for a tank bra for my 99 X1, it has the original carbon fiber and I want to protect it.

Jerry,
I've never seen a bra that covered the entire tank. I've only seen the belt buckle guards. I made a "bra" that was from a Kawi ZX14 that I modified with a sewing machine. Took all of about 30 minutes. worked fine until I got tired of it. You could always buy a tank shell off ebay and put the original in storage.

I'm figuring out what I want to do. I'm limited in classes I can run with my X1, so I've been kicking around the idea of getting an 1125, or an Aprilia Tuono. Either way I'm keeping the X1.

Yeah the X1 is a keeper. I bought a 77 GS750, my intent is to do some vintage racing here in Va.

I'm looking to put wire laced wheels on my 99 x1 and I already have the rear and need the front. What hub should I buy that will work on that stock front end? any help would be awesome.
