I picked up a $150 Dell mini 9 on Ebay and grabbed the downloads for ECMSpy and Megalog viewer. I followed
Gatorbuell's Writeup on using VE Analyzer and I now have a bike with a much smoother, stronger midrange. It still has some hiccups putting around in 1st and second, but it lugs in 4th and 5th so much better than it did before, with barely any sort of drama. I haven't gotten into any tuning by ear yet, just letting VEA do it's thing. I'll take a couple more spirited rides and let it look through them before I try anything myself.

I'm extremely pleased. :D

Thank you very much for taking the time to do all that, GB!

Just figured I'd update on my third day of tuning. I finally locked out the AFV on my first trip out this evening.
Rode up my road to the corner, turned out onto the road, and cracked into first. It wrapped first noticeably faster than before and when I grabbed second it picked the front tire clear up to the balance point of the bike. This has never happened before as I'm really not that into wheelies and stuff. I was leaning as far forward as I usually do and it tends to carry the front about a foot in the air for 15-20 feet.
Not this time. :D

Once I set the AFV back into play there was a noticeable drop in power though and my cable came loose on the ride home so no checkup log. Oh well, guess I'll have to ride it again to get one. Darn.:)

Thanks again GB for the writeup. [up]

Also, since I'm already doing it, thank you speedkills as well for your dual headlight mod. Super easy and works like a dream. [up]
