Hey Guys,

Got my first Buell (2005 XB12s) about 2 months ago and have been following the sight since. I wanted to put a right scoop on it and saw americansportbikes.com has one. How does it fit? I was wondering if any other companies have them. Also, if you guys had any recommendations?

any H-D dealer can also fix you up. you will need the below part #'s and quantities to do the job. IMO a right side scoop set-up is the single best thing you can do to keep these motors cool. here are the H-D part #'s and quantities. total is approx. $60 for all

3 each - an1005.3fss - (Screws)
1 each - m0851.7aa
1 each - m0852.7aa

I absolutely 100% agree with lunatic... I put one on mine and it's an immediate improvement... You won't get any kind of insane power increase or anything like that, but it really helps get some air around that rear cylinder head...

I got mine from ASB... Quick and easy checkout... Fast Shipping... Good packaging... No complaints to speak of from me...

EDIT

very nice bike wishin4snow!!...

It's amazing the difference it's made on my 9SX. It runs cooler and the fan rarely kicks on. It runs way less than before and that's after riding it on 100 degree + days here in Las Vegas.

Is it possible to fit this scoop on a XB12Ss (long)? I've seen that the bend on the header is slightly different on some models, havent really done any research as to which has which header, but I've definitely seen 2 different curves.

m0852.7aa is the inner scoop, is this the same as the stock one which comes on the bike? I have an '09 XB12Ss and it looks like a smaller scoop is already on.

No. It's similar but it has areas where the outer cover fastens to it.

Great!! ... you'll see what we mean after you slip it on and ride around for a bit in some hotter weather that would normally give ya some "Thigh-Fry syndrome" ... Hahaha

Got the scoop on and I can definitely tell the difference in cooling. However, I'm not a huge fan of how it looks. I wish they could have made it to match the left scoop better and not stand out so much.

I just put mine on yesterday, seems to be running cooler after 45 mins on the highway. Doesn't seem to be as much heat transferring to the legs. I paid about 70 for mine from the local HD as well

You're lucky to get these in a HD dealer, here, in Quebec, 2 HD dealers told me that thoses are aftermarket and can't have them...
is it me or they just dont want help me?

they are just being dicks. unless they are not buell dealers. only hd dealers that are buell dealers as well, can get get you parts for your buell. the rss is in the assesory book and parts book. if the hd dealer doesnt have the buell dealership, they wont get you parts for you buell. thats what i have been told by hd. you could order over the phone or online to other hd dealers here nut shipping would be cashy im guessing.

No one likes the price but a Pegasus RSS is almost a perfect match.
