Hey! Just got a 2003 XB9R. I've wanted an XB forever and finally pulled the trigger. Better late than never I guess. It's got 15k on it but seems to run great. Never owned a Buell or any other sport bike for that matter, but I love it already! Anyway, any special areas of concern with this type of mileage? No noticeable weirdness or noises just wanna keep it going and try to double the mileage.

Welcome to the community. You can find the service manual here now that you're a member. It will list the suggested maintenance to do at certain mileages. Plentiful information all over the site. You came to the right place.

Change wheel bearings for piece of mind, allballs are cheap on amazon and seem to be doing good for most of us on here. Flush your brake fluid, and check that your ground wires are tight. Pick up a diagnostic cable and ecmspy and run diagnostics from the ecm to see what all is going on, the cable will come in handy to see trouble codes if they arise and you can see how the bike is running (lean/rich). A fluid change to AMSoil 20/50 V-twin for both primary and swing arm is also something I would do so you know the oil is fresh. Have fun and ride safe!

Oh and use blue lock-tite on everything!!!

welcome to the forum...take a look at the general motorcycle chat forum, lots of good info, also check out the part cross reference thread. and for the third time...pics or it didn't happen:D

Warming it up for a minute before blasting off.

Ok so what is this? I google ECMspy and basically find a cable that plugs in to the Buell wire harness? So I must use a laptop and some type of computer program to anylize the ECM? Never owned a fuelly before (other than about a billion cars) and assume it works like that, but automotive scanners (not the parts store type) are expensive. Sorry if I sound ignorant about it-I am.

Thanks!

yep is a cable that connects to the ecm port under your front faring and the other end connects to your laptop. Then you download the ecmspy program and it does this and much more like changing fuel maps and diagnostics
