all, you gotta drop some science my way on how to ride this beast. i'm used to sitting up straight and turning the bars on my road king. now that i have this xb0r its about as uncomfortable as a prom date.

this thing is cooking my balls. are they always this hot? i get a pinch between the shoulder blades only rode for 20mins or so, that's due to the new riding style i'm sure. also steering a sport bike is much different than my touring. suggestions?

Yes they are hot bikes being how they are air cooled. There are things you can do to cool them down like underseat and airbox heat shields, right side scoop, and ceramic header.

You'll get use to the seating position. It took me about 1000 miles to get fully comfortable. Use your ad muscles.

Here is a video to help you lean.

Welcome to the family!

to add to what dave said, the buell is aircold like your roadking but the buell puts out way more heat. i have added the right side scoop and wrapped the headers and its better, but still hot. as far as the back hurting, youll have to figure that out yourself. mine is fine for about 1 1/2 hours then its break time.

I went from riding an Electra Glide to a Buell. It took me about a 1000 miles to really feel this monster out. The major difference in the two riding styles is the Buell is a full body ride. By that I mean, that as you make turns, you're shifting your weight in your seat, pulling your shoulder through the turn and bringing it back.

Whereas a touring Harley, you just point the handlebars to where you want it to go.

Hope my generic pointers were of some use.

Stick with it!!! DON'T go back to the land yacht!!
My first 1000 KM or so nearly killed me. Dave told me the same thing about my ab muscles, somebody else told me to keep my elbows bent, I've also found if I dip the top of my helmet a bit at highway speed it helps. I've found I just need to relax on the bike and all is well. The pinch you describe is probably from "straight arming" the bars. Hope this bit helps, Wayne

JEEZE!!! Was there a bike in Dave's video link? Couldn't see it for all the cool planes!!! a Nimrod and stuff!:p Wayne

thanks all for the info, very helpful. it's my intent to hang with it for a while.

insight is always better than hindsight.

thanks again
