New to forums, X1W owner.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Mike from Pittsburgh. I ride an 02 X1W and love it.
Recently switched from the V&H pipe back to the stock pipe, neighbors like me better now.

Here's a couple things up for discussion:

Considering painting the tank filler panels, what do you think of blue, also thinking a grey?

Anyone have any experience in removing the blue headers? I have another set that go with a CF muffler, and may choose to swap in and out depending on my mood. I'm a little concerned about cracking the ceramic coating if I bend too much.

The forums here are a great source of inspiration and all your bikes are awesome. See you in the mix.

Welcome Mike. You don't have to flex your header at all to remove it. I would recommend protecting your frame and header alike with masking tape prior to removal and install. Remove your o2 sensor first. You don't have to but ya get a bit more clearance.

X1w... Tank fillers grey or leave em carbon in my opinion.

I have been interested in tank fillers but the only ones I can find are CF. I have a 99 x1. One last question (sorry to hijack your post) is how do I know what kind of x1 do I have? Thanks.
