Good call. Lots of info thanks. Yeah the original owner (I am second) had the wheel bearing and headlights changed on recall. And my bike will only start with the kickstand in the up position. Always thought that was odd probably the switch your talking about.. have to take a look now you got me pondering about it....

Listen to John....and ask questions if something is hurting your head about the bike. He very likely will be able to diagnose the exact issue immediately as long as you give him all the relevant info.

Looks really, really nice for such an early bike...

as always jay thanks very much for the extremely kind words. regarding this bike if it were mine i would:
1-carefully check the clutch cable-to-front engine mount bracket i mentioned. typically broken. if not it will be shortly.
2-don't wait for the sidestand attachement bolt/nut to sheer. when it does...and it will...incredibly expensive damaged typically inflicted to left side of bike. i would replace it now with upgrade kit.
3-the sidestand safety interlock switch is a nissin button switch. remove....clean...spray kano-kroil or something similar into the button or any other tiny hole you see on the housing....work the button switch in and out....then with multi-meter set to ohms check for functionality. should see infinite ohms with button in.....0 ohms when out. some choose to trash it and hot-wire the 2 leads together but i prefer originality. it's on there for a purpose.

(1-kickstand to bracket attachment bolt. known to sheer. TSB kit was issued. no longer available. i have a few in stock if needed.)

i assumed you were selling parts because of this

i keep hundreds of XB parts in stock for my business and for board members. email me below if you need any of the TSB recall parts. this is an extremely busy time of year for me so allow sufficient response time.

no problem i will be getting a hold of you if i find anything i need to replace.. would you know where to find a buell "race" muffler and matching ecm?? i know the idspd supplies them but just thought i would see if any buell gurus know a better way to find used parts..

The muffler you are after is one of the most "wanted" so you will pay a premium IF you can find one... having said that, check this link where one was just posted. http://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?49959-Buellybagger-quot-s-Craigslist-Deals-Of-the-DAY!!!!!&p=586152&viewfull=1#post586152

No need to buy an ECM you can flash the race maps to your stock ECU/EEPROM with a bluetooth adapter or cable and ECMdroid (free) or ECMSpy/TunerProRT (computer based software).
