Whats up fellas... just purchased new xb12r last month. Originally had 05 xb12r. Anything I should look out for or different in years?

Also the previous owner made a custom air box. I put the original plastics back on. Everything seems to be in good working order but I have it stored for winter. I changed the belt and tires and hopefully everything runs good once I get out on the road in the spring. Bike has 22k miles. Lastly the air filter on top seems to be missing a sensor. Is anyone aware if this is common to remove or will cause issues?

Any tips or pointers on maintenance would be beneficial and appreciated

Thanks again - love the forum....

Welcome aboard!
The sensor that's mounted at the rear of the airbox base is the air inlet temperature sensor.
I've never heard of anyone running their bike with out that sensor. Have you not cranked yours over? How does it run without the AIT sensor? I ask about how your bike runs because I know guys have had running problems when the sensor is faulty or not working properly.
Should be very easy to replace and fairly inexpensive.
Good luck with your new purchase!

Dammit I took the picture of the air filter off my phone. What I can tell you is the bike turns over no issues. Its very throaty but, it appears normal as my previous fire bolt. When I hit the throttle it did choke a couple of times. Ill see if I can get the picture up and I will find out real fast once I get her on the road. Also I put on the falcon belt. I read the reviews but don't understand if it was a good choice or not. I do know it was a b***ch putting on (tight). I'm excited though it has the spec ops pipe and ecm. Should be ready to eat some corners and walk on one wheel...

CHICAGO not for sale my friend. Also I live in the northwest burbs. Maybe we should get together for a ride this summer if you live in the CHI

That's a breather rerout. Or a variation of it. I'm sure they're are a million different ways to do it. Anyway if the sensor the the rear, inside the filter, of your airbox is there then you should be all good. Just make sure the two holes, infront front of the sensor, from the missing breathers are plugged up.
