I’m a new 2004 XB12s owner and new to the forum. My bike has 33k and it runs great. Aftermarket intake, drummer exhaust, Buell race ECM. The bike needs a little TLC. Tires, brakes, soap and water. All the plastics are black and I’m considering a color change.

I'm old. My first bike was a Suzuki XD700. Then a Honda Nighthawk 750. Then a Honda Superhawk 1000cc vTwin. I moved to cruisers. I put 50k miles on a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad, then a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager which I still own. The XB12s has been on my bucket list for a long time. So now I have a cruiser and sport bike in my stable.

Nice,

I started on a Honda CX550 which was an experience. I then moved onto a CBR600, a ZX10R, then a ZX14. The ZX14 was mostly for touring. I took a break for a few years until I picked up a Honda Grom last year. When I first rode a Buell I was coming off of a 2008 ZX10R which had an abundance of power across the entire rev range. At the time I was unimpressed with the power of the XB9SX. However now that I'm a bit older, going out and just taking in the scenery seems more appealing to me.

How was your experience with the Superhawk? That's another bike I considered before deciding on getting a Buell.

I loved the superhawk. A v-twin with a 10k redline. The liquid cooled engine kept my legs warm. A great design for chilly PNW but a terrible design if you live in a hot climate. It never gave me trouble except for a dead battery and tires. You could buy one today, put 5k miles on it and sell it for what you paid for it in a couple years. Easy to find parts.
