Think I'll keep this thread going. As some of you may know, I crashed my xb in May 2011. I sold her shortly after I bought my 1125cr. Put 20k miles on the cr and sold her in October 2013. I currently don't have a bike of my own, but I will be riding my mom's Blast for the time being. Quick history on the Blast, it is a 2003. My mom bought it in 2012? For $2,500. It had about 1,300 miles on it. As of today it has 2,335 miles (80% from me). I think we have the service manuals somewhere but if not, I will need to download them somewhere. I'll be hanging around the Blast forum mostly but I am knowledgeable in the 1125 bikes if anyone has questions I can try my best to answer them.

Rode to work today in the frosty 30°F

Once the weather gets warm, hit up The Chatterbox Restaurant just outside Newton, nj for Thursday night bike night. Usually at least a couple hundred bikes show up when it's nice out.

Welcome to the club. Ride safe, have fun, ATGATT!!

We have (2) Biker Breakfasts here in Central Pa. 'near' Lancaster. One is in Ephrata, and the other in Lawn. The one in Ephrata has a huge draw and there is ALWAYS some interesting vintage bikes there as well. The Lawn show gets bigger every year and is very nice as well, with some EXCELLANT breakfast food. Ephrata is the first Sunday of the month, and Lawn is the 3rd Sunday of the month. (7-11 AM). I'm sure if you google either one, you'll find them. Ephrata is put on by the Legion, and Lawn is by their Fire Company. It's a bit of a ride for you, but if you're up for that, you won't be dissappointed.

I'll have to check them out, I have been to the Chatterbox once before with some friends that ride in my area.

One thing I won't complain about the Blast is its fuel mileage. For it being in the mid 30s and doing 65-75 on the highway it's not bad at all. Only did a short 35 mile ride today after work, 68 since I filled up on Tuesday, only cost $4.50. I'll take it over the subie.

Subaru/buell is a good combo! I have a bugeye wrx and a xb12r. The wrx was a life saver this winter with all that snow.

Just ordered a set of Pirelli MT75 tires for the Blast, should make it handle a little better but will sacrifice in longevity, probably only a 2,500 Mike tire at best. Anything is better than the 12 year old, dry rotted Dunlops on it now haha. Any tips on lifting the Blast up with a motorcycle jack and Jack stands? And on mounting/dismounting the rear tire? Will I have to remove the sprocket?

New Pirelli MT75 tires for the Blast. Should have them mounted tomorrow. Will update with mileage and other info on their performance. For $150 front and rear I'll be happy with 3k miles.

20 minutes (minus a trip to advance auto for a 30mm socket) and wheels are off and ready for their new tires, this is probably the easiest wheel removal of any Buell that I've worked on at least.

First impressions of the MT75 are, it's an amazing tire in the handling department. Doesn't break loose during breaking as easily either. I will update later on wet weather performance and a long term update on tire wear and milage.

Odometer at install 2,649 miles

Specs
-Front

So this is my wet weather follow up, rode to work and back today with a decently strong cold front dumping rain over us. From what I experienced, I felt like these tires inspired more confidence in wet weather than the stock tires did in the dry. I am 100% pleased with their all around performance. I recommend these tires to anyone with a Blast and in comparison to some michelin tires I had on my xb and 1125, these tires are about the same cost per mile as the ones running standard sport bike tires.
