I have a 2005 xb12r that does not have power to any of its gauges or switches. The gauges wont sweep, it wont start and I don't have any power to headlights or taillights. My main fuse is good and I have power coming into my ignition relay. I have switched all my relays so I know there good. Checked out the fuses and there good. I have no power to my ignition switch. Any suggestions. Really trying to get this bike back on the road before summer is over. Thanks

^^^^^^ this and establish first off that you have 12 volts actually going to the bike. give the battery a 6 amp charge for at least 15 minutes then have it load tested. then check that the terminals are pristine and tight to the battery terminals....and that the cable ends are tight and secure. double check the negative cable end to frame mount.

Battery is brand new and it has 12 volts going through it. I think it has something to do with the ignition. I had a key maker come out to make keys and after that it did this

in retrospect your original posting should have commenced with: 2005 XB. had locksmith respond to cut new key for ignition switch (at this point you include reason why this was necessary). key now turns properly inside ignition switch assembly but no electrical flow thru the bike's systems. any ideas?

Sounds to me like you wasted some money on that locksmith. I'd give the guy a call and see if he'd take another shot at it. Explain to him that the key does turn the ignition but you get no power when the key is on. Since this wasn't the case prior to the new keys, which I'm assuming is true, he needs to give you a GOOD key.
Or just buy a new ignition assembly with new keys.

I needed locksmith just to unlock tank so I could put gas in to bike to test run it. I have had the ignition apart and haven't been using a key for a while. Just jumped it out.
