No more Buell??? WTF!

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I guess im on two sides of this. I do think that it will hurt buell riders if dealerships stop supporting them. But man if Buell got huge, and I started seeing firebolts like I see gixxers, Id prolly lose some interest. I love being unique, id HATE to pull up on another Firebolt with the same paint scheme. I love seeing other Buells, and wow do I get excited when I do...imagine if I/you seen them every day?

I see your point on the dealer side I guess I was just looking at it as another model HD so to sleek, also I did fail to think of the fact that HD dealers are private businesses.

So you are correct wokor2wheel.

I also like being unique this the reason I bought a Buell (plus I just like them), along with modding it. I guess if I were to see them as often as I see a HD they wouldn't appeal as much but you can always personalize a ride. Hell I own a 2001 s10, but in all the time I have owned it I have never seen one like it I MI so there are ways to make something common uncommon it just takes a little know how not just a deep pocket.

Everyone has good points, put I guess since I havesuch strong interst in Buell I will never understand how such a great line can be such a bastard child.

if a dealer has in the past, or currently EVER sold a single buell off their showroom floor.....i think it should be required to have a competent and certified buell tech on hand. otherwise, you can erase the 'warranty' as a selling point.

the majority of buell owners definitely know more about the product than the sales folks.

Biker Bob's H-d and Buell in Taylor, MI. Come in top service area and ask for "Gunny" one of our service technicians. He is certified to work on all Buell models. :D

although I only rely on myself for work on my bike, it will always fluster me that any help one may need by a dealer is nill to none.

This the reason this web site is so great. Experience experience by Buell driven, Buell loved, owners.

Wokor2wheel "Our parts guys, technicians, and sales staff are ready willing and able to get you what you need"

My dealer Monterey County Harley sucks in the parts department big time. I always get bad looks and literally have to ask for some god damn help when Im standing there at the counter. Like no **** I want help!

The service department thought kicks ass! Even thought they are mostly harley guys, they still get a kick out of my bike and are always super friendly. I just dropped my 3 month old baby 2 weeks ago and they came out picked me up, did an estimate then took me and the bike home free of charge.

I have recently bought my first bike a XB12SS long. I went to Preston and Glasgow Harley and Buell shops (UK). Both were knowledgeable, keen and had plenty of new and used bikes, parts and gear. In fact having left my details I get monthly texts inviting me to events and deal nights promoting Buell. They were both great to deal with and total committed to the product and company ethos

I can't believe how much more popular Buell are over seas in some cases. Made in America, best overseas?

Damn local HD dealers

You can always move to Austin, Tx.
Central Texas Harley Davidson has 19 machines on the floor.
One of their stores caters almost exclusively to Buell Customers.
I **** you not...

Just had my 2nd 25k service done there.
They love me and take care of me.
They even have a rewards program for Customers like me...

Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread... Just called Roughrider HD in Mandan, ND (near Bismarck) for some parts.

Looks like they dropped Buell, and I can't even order parts any more! I have to go to Jamestown (about 100 miles east) to order anything from a dealer.

And in talking with them (Jamestown) it doesn't sound like they are going to be keeping Buell around much longer either.

It just amazes me that they can't sell the things around here. I don't know if it's that they can't sell them, or if they just don't want to.

UGH.

I bought my new XB12SS from . Detroit Harley in Michigan They have many models of Buell on the showroom floor and their Buell tech went over every nut and bolt on the bike to the point where it got annoying. They treated me great and the price was far lower than other dealers in MI. The know a ton about Buell and they ride them personally.

XBear9S - I just bought my first Buell, 09 XB12Ss, from Central Harley Davidson. I live in San Antonio and could not find a new Buell at any of our HD stores. Central Harley was easy to work with but since I'm 2 hours away, I may not service my bike there, hence, they don't make more money from me.

It's all about margins and there are no marketing dollars behind Buell. Without marketing dollars, it's hard to sell a high volume of bikes.

you couldn't find one or you couldn't find the one you wanted?

im finding it hard to believe. i have never been to alamo city hd and not seen new buells. hell the last time i went they had 4 1125r's, 2 1125cr's and several xb's.

i have wanted to go to austin to see their dealership but im glad i have support right here in san antonio as well.

It is so sad to hear about the lack of energy from these dealers to sell bikes. I bought my XB12 from Gateway HD in St. Louis, MO. These guys rock!! They always have about 10-15 Buells in stock. The service Department knows the bikes inside and out, and they care about customer service. I can't confirm it, but they claim to be the highest volume Buell dealership in the country. That claim includes, bikes, aftermarket, and apparel. I have decided that I will not buy a bike from any other dealer, unless for some reason I stray from Buell or Harley.

Now that my local dealer does not carry buell and the closest one has nothing in stock I have found it easier and more timely to order from Amer. Sport Bike

I Bought my 08 Firebolt from Privateers Harley in Halifax Nova Scotia this past February. Had to ship it to Ontario, but oh well, it was the only white one left in Canada. My sales guy, Steve, told my the Buells sell badly because your typical sportbike buyer looks at numbers only. Ok, I know my bike is slower in the quarter and up top than a typical metric 600 but I see tons of them every day, and I am reasonably sure I can outrun them in the twisties anyday. I only have 600 KM on it so far but am quickly gaining respect at how AMAZING the handling is. Wayne

if a Buell has a specific reason for bad sales, it is because of the bad Sales guy at nearly every dealer.

They don't make as much money on each compared to a sporster and most of them just brush off Buells as another crotch rocket.
