So my local HD shop says Buells no more. They are not ordering anymore.

They said there is no profit in them. My response was simple. If the dealership doesn't push a bike like have a sign, some models on the show floor, or have the basic knowledge of the bike they won't sell.

Not sure how a big dealer like the one I have near me doesn't understand these simple facts can sell anything.

But I guess I should have seen it when I was the one answering my own questions when I went there to order something or look for help.

Anyone else find this to be true near them?

Brandon

Im lucky, my dealer is a stand alone shop and the parent Harley shop really pumps up the Buell line.

There are two dealers near me that don't carry Buells. The one that does has no clue about the bike. They have one Buell Mechanic. The parts guys don't even know the models, Xb9 etc, much have any interest in looking up parts for you.

The shop name is Hot Rod Harley Davidson in Muskegon MI. Also the other local HD dealer a few more miles away doesn't carry Buell either.

Hell they don't even have one damn Buell sticker at the place.

And the attention I get when I go to a bike event would make one think everyone would have a Buell if they knew about them.

Yeah, it seems Buell is the red headed step child of Harley... All the Buell dealers here in Sac, CA have maybe 5 bikes and if you don't want one of those you are pretty much up a creek.

true, but I guess one appeal to owning a Buell is the fact that they aren't all over and you do stand out in a group of liter bikes.

That's how Lakeland Harley Davidson/Buell is here in Fla. I was there last week and went to order some acessories for my lightning and the parts guy after ignoring me a few times ended up giving me the parts book and wanted me to look it up. Kinda sad. There is a Buell store near here (orlando) that is a stand alone store and is supposed to be great! But on my way out of the store this guy approached me in the parking lot of the Lakeland store and was like " they normally don't really care about Buells, even thought they sell and service them!

Same thing happened to the HD store 10 minutes away from my house. Brighton HD of Brighton, MI dropped the Buell line conveniently before I finally got my Lightning.

It sucks that probably the single largest name of motorcycles and number one supporter besides the riders thinks so lightly of such a great motorcycle. In turn pulling down the Buell name.

You can't be a Bueller and be dependent on what your local HD dealer can or will do for you.
Welcome to the reality of Buell.

I like bein' a red-headed stepchild. Red suits me...

I agree it is nice to be different but at the same time it isn't like any of us want Buell to fail, so it would Be nice if the dealership would give two shits about their product even though it is its own breed.

6 month wait for a new buell in australia unless there is one on the floor.. parts, not much better.. i was lucky to pick up a 08' xb12ss 3 months ago,(was going to wait for 09') that dealer is still another 4 months or more off getting a 09' one in to the showroom.... these bikes are rare as hens teeth here and it is good to be the only bueller in town, enjoy it before everyone else catches on i think!

Im in White Lake Michigan and I have the same problem. Probably 3 Harley Shops near me and none carry Buell. Closest to me is Ann Arbor, or better yet I cross the border into Windsor Ont. CANADA!! and hit Thunder Road Harley/Buell.

San Jose HD dropped Buells a few years ago. Fremont (Faultline) HD/Buell is a very good Buell dealer. They usually have 8-12 on the floor. Sales and mechanics like Buells. They know about aftermarket items recommend Mods and appreciate Buells.

on a side note.. I would rather be a Private First Class than a butter bar LT. At least a PFC has been promoted. :p

Where the hell did that come from? Good point. But, the LT has something you don't. A Commission..

Good point. And the pay check ain't bad either.

It's a shame that so many h-d dealers are like that. Hell the buell line is the most advanced bikes under their roof! H-D is not the stand up company they once where, now their all about the poser like chumps and its all about getting everyone of them on a street glide, rocker, crossbones, ect. or whichever one makes them the most money. I've known people that went into a h-d "store" to buy a sportster and had to listen to crap about how they would grow out of a sportster in six months. I had a h-d finance manger try to sell me a $1300 prepaid maintenance agreement because i could use it to have my valves adjusted on my xb12, i tried to tell him that they have self adjusting hydraulic valves but he spent 5 minutes trying to prove me wrong. Hell not everybody wants a land yacht. Yeah buell needs standalone shops where the parts people know something others than chrome parts. I will say theres a few good people working at that dealership. I would rather have to ride 100 miles to get to a buell only shop than have 3 h-d stores in town.

I went into the New River HD-Buell (Jacksonville NC) and they didn't have any bikes. Only one T-shirt. one Mech who is kinda agreeable, but the parts guy doen't know anything and they don't have a catalogue. I went in there before buying my first Buell (an 07 Firebolt 12R) and said to the sales man "Tell me all about the Buells I think I want a Firebolt. I just reenlisted and have cash." He huffed at me and scoffed "you don't want a Buell. What you want is a Sportster!" I replied "No, I don't. I want a Lightning or a firebolt." to which he replied while turning and walking off, "Well, I won't sell you one." A efw months later after I had bought my bike from a fella in AZ, they had 1 1125R and tried to get me to trade in my firebolt for it, but wouldn't let me ride it first.. lame.
