So recently on my 03. Xb9s with the factory race kit. I have been getting my neutral light on and off. Sometimes it works and some times it don't. I have followed the wires and there are no frays or loose connections. The bike goes in just fine be the light won't light and I have to pull in the clutch lever to start it. It is more of an Inconvienience then a worry. Also. I'm sure ill catch flak for this but it started right after an oil change. I switched from mobile1 to amsoil. Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it but it is a consideration. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated

agree with freak, replace it...used part try Buellsterparts.com or on evilbay, pinwall cycles, for new part try surdyke.com, LSHD1.com, newcastleharleydavidson.com

roger that, freak. switch on the way out. they're cheap, same as sportster, available at most any H-D dealer. coincidental with your oil change.

when you say same as harley you mean an 03 sportster 883 or a brand new one can i walk in to the stealer ship full of water heads and just say i need a neutral safety switch of an 03 sportster . because every time im in there and i say the magic word (buell) they all panic and run. and tell me they dont cary parts for them and that they cant work on them.

Wow. that's cold. Neutral switch for 03 is part number 33900-99. Hope this helps. Should come with sealing washer #6288. Try calling the parts department ahead of time, tell em' to run that Buell number. It's usually good with the exception of the suffix changing over time. Best of luck finding a Buell friendly dealer. If you like, i can email you a parts catalogue.

thanks chrispudd
i just looked up the part on surdyke and it is 11 bucks ill call the special ed school for the gifted (harley shop) today and see if they have that part and when they say they dont make buell parts anymore ill locate it on one of there new sportsters ask for some tools to take it off and show them that they still make it. thanks for the help guys i appreciat it.
