I know that 98% of us can ride with our kickstand down, so the sensors do fail a lot.

I can't. No riding with the kickstand down. It actually saved my dumb ass a few times.

I learned the hard way my sensor works. Just filled up with gas, crowded station, went to take off let out the clutch and bike died. After about five minutes and pushing it across the parking lot I realized the stand was still down. Put the stand up and got the hell out of there, man I must have looked stupid.
